Privacy Policy

We collect the minimum data needed to run RK-AI: account details, academic profile, study activity, assessment answers, and (if you opt in) product analytics. Chat images and uploaded notes are used only to generate study artifacts for your account.

Roles and sharing

Parents on a Family plan see progress snapshots, predicted score bands, and risk alerts — never private tutor chat. Tutors see assigned students only. Teachers and org admins see classroom rosters they manage. We do not sell personal data.

Minors

Age band and consent version are stored as audit records. Under-13 registrations are blocked. Students 13–17 need guardian contact and privacy consent during onboarding. You can withdraw consents in Settings.

Processors

We use PostgreSQL hosting (for example Neon), Stripe for payments, and optional cloud AI providers (Gemini or OpenAI) when you use those features. You can use local engines without sending content to a cloud LLM.

Retention and deletion

You may export or delete your account in Settings. Deletion cancels Stripe subscriptions, revokes sessions, and removes learning records we control. Backup copies may persist for a limited disaster-recovery window.

FERPA (schools)

When a school is the customer, education records are used only to provide the contracted service. Districts remain the record owner. Contact privacy@rkai.local for access, correction, or DPA requests.
